Yet Another List
So if that wasn't enough (and it wasn't) I have decided to make a list of the top 20 bands that you must check out. Now these bands might not be the greatest (and they might) but they all have a unique sound that is worth listening to. Some are amazing and probably deserve to be on my Top 20 greatest bands of all time list but they just didn't make the cut. And now
THE TOP 20 BANDS THAT YOU SHOULD GIVE A LISTEN
1. Captain Beefheart and His Magic Band
(Probably the most unique and diverse rock band in the history of rock and roll)
2. The J. Geils Band (MAGIC DICK)
3. Pere Ubu (Too orginal for words, in a really good way)
4. Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers (One of the great rock bands of the 70s-80s)
5. Jimi Hendrix (fucking amazing, should be on top 20 greatest list)
6. Sublime (Best contemporary alt rock/punk band)
7. Commander Cody and His Lost Pirate Airmen
(These guys are a local band from el cerrito, really amazing musically + diverse )
8. Red Hot Chili Peppers (Bass guitarist Flea is amazing)
9. Jack Johnson (Best new singer/song writer/guitarist)
10. Buddy Holly (One of the great 50s/60s rockers, needs to be heard)
11. Muddy Waters (amazing blues singer and guitarist)
12. Rilo Kylie (One of the best voices in the history of music)
13. David Byrne (New solo album has a sound that needs to be heard)
14. The Cars (80s pop that is really really good, gotta give it a listen)
15. The Police (one of the greatest 80s pop groups, almost made top 20 greatest)
16. The Hives (Contemporary punk/alt rock that needs attention)
17. Pink Floyd (Another that should be on the top 20 greatest, just listen to them)
18. Blink 182 (not for everyone but if you like punk, listen to their early stuff)
19. Leonrad Cohen (I just started listening to him, could be really great)
20. The Gypsy Kings( Great mariachi style mexican folk ballads)
This was really tough too and not in the best order and there should be more on here. Rancid, Barenaked Ladies, The Supremes, Yellowcard all should be on there. I know I am leaving out lots of noteworthy bands but for now I think this is pretty good. People please, check out the bands your not familar with and keep on rocking the ones you already love, I am sure at least one album from one of these bands is on your shelf.
P.S. I am not saying I discovered these bands or anything, just that if you don't know about them and haven't listened to at least a full album from most of these bands, you should have. So before you bite my nuts off, don't take everything I say so literally.
P.P.S. Future comments that are stupid and ignorent won't be dignified with a response.

Can i just bite your nuts anyway?
Man I'm so glad that you opened my eyes to The Beach Boys, they are really good. They have that classic surfer sound. I can just imagine a classic Woody with a surf board on top driving down the Southern California coast.
